My Mission
Welcome to Alpha Kilo, My name is Austin King and I'm Alpha Kilo Aviation. I'm a husband and father of two beautiful daughters. I'm an Independent (private) Flight Instructor and Corporate Pilot. When I'm not teaching people how to fly, I fly a mix of Turboprops and Jets for Corporate Flight Departments.
I chose to teach independently because of my own training experience. As a student, I noticed things I would do differently — the biggest being hidden fees and a lack of transparency. I kept hearing timelines and cost estimates that simply weren't accurate, and I didn't want to be part of that problem. So I chose to be different. As an independent CFI, I have full control over my students' experience. Training is challenging by nature, but that doesn't mean it can't also be enjoyable. We work at your pace, move through the syllabus in a way that actually benefits you, and do it all with complete honesty about where you stand on time and cost.

I'm an independent Certified Flight Instructor with a passion for teaching and a deep love of aviation. I operate with a fleet of 4 Diamond DA-40s and a Cessna 182, giving students access to modern, capable aircraft without the overhead of a traditional flight school.
My approach is simple: understand where you want to go, build a plan to get you there, and be there with you every step of the way.
